Welcome to Safta Science! This is a blog about me, Safta Sheila Ornstein, (Safta means grandma - and I became a safta on Oct 22, 2007 with the birth of Paul Andrew Weil) and the science that I have been teaching for over 36 years.

Presently, I am teaching Regents Biology (Living Environment) and Regents Earth Science at Reuben Gittelman Hebrew Day School in Rockland County, NY. I plan to post daily summaries of homework and assignments as well as interesting science links and photos. Hopefully this will keep my students and their parents informed and interested in what we are learning.
